There's a new face here at CPCI and a new voice on air -- her name is Danielle Peeling.

With Karen Walker's retirement, the Lord has brought our way a talented young lady who is proving to be quite capable, both in terms of on air reponsibilities (Monday through Friday 11:30am - 3:30pm) and front office responsibilities.

So, we thought you'd like to get to know Danielle better and we sat down and asked her a few questions...

I'm a 5th generation Floridian! I grew up in a godly Christian home, my parents were both saved at a young age and were committed to bringing up their family in a Christ-centered environment. Like most people, I went through the ‘teenage rebellion' stage, only to later realize that I had let it take complete control over my life. I was in an unhealthy relationship, drinking and partying most nights, so far off the right course that I began to question the value of life itself. My parents eventually intervened and sent me to a private Christian university in West Palm Beach, Florida. That's where God really took hold of my life. I began to realize why I needed Him so much, and made the decision to turn my life around. It's been an adventure ever since, but I know that, through Him who gives me strength, I can do all things!

Why did you and Andrew [Danielle's husband] move to Pennsylvania?

Andrew got accepted into Penn State's Graduate Program while we were engaged. He came to me one day and asked what I would think of moving to Pennsylvania after we got married... I almost laughed out loud! I wasn't sure if he was joking or serious, but after much prayer, I knew that this was what God wanted for us. A short three months after we were married, we packed up all we had and made the 26-hour drive to State College... We absolutely love it here!

Tell us what the Lord Jesus means in your life

Christ is my everything, and I am His work-in-progress. I would never have made it this far without His redemptive Grace and Love. I must admit, I am quite the planner, but Jeremiah 29:11 has become my life verse, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I can rest, knowing that God is in control and has the best planned for me.

Why are you interested in Christian radio?

Radio has been a passion for me ever since I was a young child listening to radio talk-show host Delilah! I was in awe of her Christian testimony and inspired by the way that she related with others. I knew, from a young age, that radio was something I wanted to do. My first semester at Palm Beach Atlantic University, I started interning at a local Christian radio station, WAY-FM, and my passion for radio quickly became an interest in not only being on-air, but reaching others for Christ through the airwaves.

We've come to know you as a very ministry-oriented person. Tell us why that's the case.

After Christ went ‘dumpster diving' for me and brought me out of the mess I had gotten myself into, I started volunteering with a local youth group in Florida. Through that experience, God lit a fire in my heart for mentoring young teen girls. I wanted, so badly, to reach them before they got to the point that I had reached in my teen years. When I graduated from college, my first job was at a Crisis Pregnancy Center. I loved having the opportunity to witness to women and show them the Loving Redemption of Christ through sharing my own testimony. I have a great heart for ministry and for all people who have felt Christ leading them to ministry.

What do you enjoy doing to relax?

Andrew and I love watching movies! Whether it's going to the theatre or watching a favorite at home, movies are a great way for me to relax and unwind. I also love to read! If you would like to recommend a book to me, I'll add it to my list! =)
