What is CPCI?

Central Pennsylvania Christian Institute is a non-profit corporation formed in 1977 to serve the Christian community with a broad range of support services. We encourage believers to become actively involved in their churches and their communities because we believe that both worship and service are vital to the Christian experience. It is our intention to emphasize those areas of doctrine common to all evangelical Christians, while giving believers from diverse theological and denominational backgrounds liberty to interpret peripheral matters in the light of their own understanding. In short, CPCI is a non-profit,  non-denominational Christian service organization established to edify and encourage the body of Christ.

How is CPCI Governed?

CPCI is governed by an uncompensated Board of Directors made up of Christian laymen from various area churches. The board reflects CPCI’s commitment to non-denominational ministry. Although they come from different church and theological persuasions, the Directors lay these differences aside in order to work together in a wonderfully cooperative effort to exalt their Lord.

How is CPCI Funded?

CPCI is wholly dependent upon and supported by the freewill gifts and offerings of interested friends, business and professional people, and churches. CPCI is not underwritten by any foundation or ecclesiastical body.

What Steps Does CPCI Take to Insure Financial Responsibility?

CPCI is registered as a not-for-profit corporation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and reports annually to the Department of State as a registered charity. The Internal Revenue Service of the Federal government recognizes CPCI as a 501(c)(3) organization, therefore, qualified gifts to CPCI are tax deductible.

Accurate accounting records of all financial matters are maintained and reviewed monthly at each meeting of the Board of Directors. An annual audit is made by a certified public accountant and annual reports are filed with the appropriate governmental agencies.

CPCI is a member of the Christian Stewardship Association.

Because CPCI believes that God is our source and His people are the means, and that we are accountable to both.  Financial records of CPCI are open for inspection to our contributors.

How Does CPCI Serve?

Way Truth Life Radio

Way Truth Life Radio is non-commercial, listener supported radio that sets a standard for excellence in Christian broadcasting. Offering a blending of quality programming and truly inspirational music from studios located in State College, WTLR, 89.9 FM has served Pennsylvania’s heartland since 1978. Sister station WQJU, 107.1, Mifflintown, became CPCI’s second full power radio station in January, 1993. Serving listeners in an area to the south and east of WTLR’s broadcast range, WQJU operates as a satellite of WTLR, bringing identical programming to Mifflin, Snyder, Juniata and Perry counties.

Way Truth Life Radio is committed to providing the very best to the Body of Christ in our service areas, and our association with the Moody Broadcasting Network, the USA News Network, and many proven broadcast ministries like Focus on the Family, Back to the Bible, and Haven of Rest are only examples of our quality programming. CPCI’s desire to provide quality programming for children is especially noteworthy. A portion of each broadcast day is devoted to programs for "kids". Some, like Odyssey and The Children’s Bible Hour, are syndicated, but the very popular King’s Kids Club originates from the WTLR studios each weekday at 4PM, and "kids of all ages" love it. So wherever you are in Central Pennsylvania we invite you to tune in to Way Truth Life Radio, one of the ministries of CPCI.

Camp Kanesatake

Camp Kanesatake is a quiet place in the woods midway between State College and Altoona. There, among the pines that rise above Spruce Creek, hundreds of children and youth are drawn closer to God every Summer. Since purchasing the camp in 1989, CPCI has developed an outstanding program of camps, retreats, and opportunities for fun and fellowship that include:

  • Youth Quest

Youth Quest is CPCI’s program geared specifically to meet the needs and concerns of today’s youth. In a joyous Christian atmosphere these week-long camps provide a schedule of activities designed to test body and mind. Chapel times during Youth Quest are prepared to introduce teens to the excitement, relevance, and applicability of God’s word to everyday life.
  • Adventure Camps
This newer program offers a more physically and spiritually camp for teens.   From a special primitive camp home base, Teen boys and Girls (in separate camps), go on to enjoy backpacking trips, hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, archery and much more.
  • Kids Camps

The basic needs of children for love, truth, acceptance and security do not change. King’s Kids Camps, designed for elementary-aged children, provide opportunity to meet those needs in a fun and stimulating manner. Whether hiking on "The Oregon Trail", enjoying skit night, singing at campfire or worshiping in the chapel, every activity is intended to reinforce Christian values and behavior. Those attending King’s Kids Camp make friends, find good role models, and learn the importance of Jesus for today.
  • Mini Camps

These abbreviated camps are offered to children who may not yet be able to handle an entire week away from home. They offer youngsters the opportunity to enjoy all the fun, excitement and joy of our full week kid’s program in a delightful bite-sized morsel.

Ezekiel Forum

The Ezekiel Forum is CPCI’s newest ministry. The focus of the Ezekiel Forum is to equip God’s people with solid biblical answers to current social issues, that the body of Christ may confidently engage our culture with a Christian worldview. Through guest speakers, public forums, seminars and other means of communication the Forum will endeavor to bring Christians to a more biblical understanding of the issues confronting them.
