| "The doctrine of the
Trinity separates orthodox Christian teaching from heresy. This essential
teaching of Christianity states that we believe in one God who exists in
three separate and distinct persons--God the Father, God the Son, and God
the Holy Spirit. Each member is equal in nature and substance." --Patrick Zukeran 2 Sessions: 1:00pm 7:00pm Evangelicals are fond of saying that Christianity is not a religion but a relationship, and this is quite true. But to suppose that the relationship between God and the Christian is the most fundamental would be wrong. Long before Man was created God knew Himself to be a Trinity of persons perfectly relating to each other, so when He made Man He created him in His own image, a relational being. When Adam deliberately disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden Mankind's relationship to God was changed. The Man created to fellowship with God fled from His presence. Where there had been joy and trust sorrow and suspicion grew. When Man turned away from God in anger, God's love never faltered, He went right on loving His now rebellious creature, and looking deep within Himself, found there all that was needed to restore His lost creation. Salvation springs from the heart of the Trinity, is accomplished in the work of a Trinity of Persons, and finds it's fulfillment in the adoration and worship of the Trinitarian Godhead. To be truly Christian is to believe in the Trinity. It is a doctrine seminal to our faith. But the doctrine of the Trinity is a doctrine in trouble today. Many Christians give it scant attention, and some who profess to be Christian deny it altogether. This presentation of The Ezekiel Forum will address this important truth in two lectures to be given on April 12, 2003. Patrick Zukeran of Probe Ministries will speak at 1:00 PM on the subject "Why should we believe in the Trinity?" At 7:00 PM he will address "Contemporary Errors and Misconceptions Concerning the Trinity." Both presentations will be given at the State College Assembly of God. There is no charge to attend, but a freewill offering will be received. |
