I lived in Altoona, PA the first 40 years of my life. During those years, I was taught head knowledge of Jesus, but He didn’t connect with my heart until I had tried long and hard to run my life "my way!" When that failed, I looked up and found Jesus waiting to redeem my life in 1978, and I was quick to open the door of my heart and invite Him in! I see how He used my 18 years as a receptionist and secretary for an engineering firm to prepare me for what I now do at CPCI. It’s a miracle that I am at CPCI, and a gift from my Abba Father who gently brings me along as I continue to surrender every area of my life to Him. God is good!
In the process of bringing me to CPCI, the Lord introduced me to Bob Walker; in fact, we met during the 1983 WTLR Sharathon. He an on-air volunteer on Saturday nights, and it was my first time volunteering time doing office work. We were married in May, 1984 He, too, is a miraculous gift from the Lord. Between us, we have three grown children: Rhonda, Lisa and Kevin; and seven grandchildren that bring us great joy. Bob works at Penn State University in the Department of Entomology as a Research Technician.
I enjoy my work at CPCI. Included in my responsibilities are computer entry of contributions to the ministry, processing camp registrations and confirmations, and anything else office related. In 1994, I was asked to "try" announcing on Way Truth Life radio weekdays from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It was a painful beginning. I’ve always been shy and introverted … growing up hanging on to my mother’s skirts, and calling on my big brother for protection. The Lord has brought me a long way, and I’m very grateful. It’s a great opportunity enjoying radio time with the listeners. I find it a very fulfilling time. It is a time of worship for me, as I close myself in the radio on-air studio and let the music and the message minister. It’s a nice break in the midst of a busy day! I also enjoy the camping season at Camp Kanesatake. We help with registrations when the children and youth come into camp; and since gardening is a joy, we plant some flowers at camp too. My life is rich … and its all because of Jesus!
