![]() Looking back over my life so far I can see God’s hand at work so many different times, and now my ministry through Camp Kanesatake and WTLR & WQJU is no different. A sovereign God who created me, knows me, and loves me spent quite some time preparing me for my role here. I grew up in New Zealand and was taught from a young age to follow the Word of God. Through different seasons of childhood and youth my relationship with the Lord grew and other times it was stressed (post-high school) but He remained faithful to me throughout it all. The major turning point in my life where all my head knowledge became heart knowledge was in the 4 months after I left New Zealand. Most New Zealanders (affectionately known as Kiwis*) leave the country somewhere between their 18th and 25th birthdays to travel the world. When I was 23 I came to America to work as a summer camp counselor and then I traveled to England to find work as a computer network engineer. It was through the struggles and testing of camp and the first month of being unemployed in England that my heart was turned to the Lord and my faith in Him increased. He’d drawn me half way around the world to teach me to trust Him, and it was working. As our relationship grew and I relinquished all my hopes and dreams for the future He began to open doors for opportunities I never imagined. I’ve been able to use my electrical engineering background and computer skills on two mission trips to Laos in South East Asia, and on another trip to East Africa where I have been supporting different missionaries and their computers through my mission agency Global Teams. God has been good to use the skills and passions from my younger years as I serve Him at Camp Kanesatake and with the Kings Kids Club. Skills like theatre lighting and sound, stage management, high school radio, and even from a search and rescue team. I am excited to be serving the Lord using these varied skills for Him and seeing many young people come to call him Lord too. I've
been married to my lovely bride Sarah since January 2005. We met at Camp
K in 2002 when we were both serving as counselors. We were married in
the chapel at Camp K, and now we live in State College, just a short
drive from the camp. |
