Once again, a portion of each Sharathon gift goes to a missionary radio project... Wantok Radio Light... Papua New Guinea's first Christian radio network!

The Pidgin English word "Wantok" means "close friend or family", and is the identifier of Papua New Guinea’s Christian Radio Network –“Wantok Radio Light.” It is a source of great pleasure to know that our Christian Wantok (family) extends all the way to Papua New Guinea (PNG). We have a very special connection to believers there.

Our Sister Station in Lae, PNG on the air!

This is because you, our supporting friends, have teamed up with our brothers and sisters in Papua New Guinea to build PNG's first Christian radio network!   In June of 2005, Way Truth Life Radio's sister station went on the air in PNG's second largest city, Lae!   Hallelujah!  The people of PNG are rejoicing! This is because of the generous giving our supporters during Sharathon 2003.

Satellite Downlink

During Sharathon 2004 we continued earmarking a portion of every Sharathon gift towards this amazing missionary project.  In that aspect of the project, support was given to help construct a satellite downlink originating at the Wantok Radio Light flagship station in Port Moresby, PNG’s capital city to deliver Gospel programming to the Lae station.  And not only will the satellite feed provide programming for the station in Lae, but also in the end, all thirty of the repeater stations that will eventually “Cover the Nation for Christ”.

We're not stopping!

The CPCI Board of Directors has approved the Wantok Radio Light project as our missionary radio outreach for 2005.   This year, a portion of every Sharathon gift will fund a powerful new Gospel program, produced by Gerald Bustin.   Gerald is joining us in person for this Sharathon.   He has served in South Seas missions work all of his life.   He has spent decades in Papua New Guinea and knows the people, culture and language very well.   The heart of this exciting new program will be to glorify Jesus Christ and proclaim His Gospel!
