Amazing News
from Papua New Guinea!

20 Rascals (gang members) were saved at a recent Wantok Radio Light rally.  Click the picture for the full size version

(November 2006) -- As many of you know, Way Truth Life Radio and our donors have partnered with Christians in Papua New Guinea to support the building of a Christian radio network in their nation -- the first ever in PNG history.

We received the following exciting report from Joe Emert:

I’m passing along this exciting email and photo from Alan Good, our HCJB missionary engineer at Wantok Radio Light in Papua New Guinea! All this week they are conducting their 2006 Sharathon, an annual “friend” raiser for the radio network. Even during this fund raising time, people are coming to know Christ as their personal Savior! Your investment in Christian radio in Papua New Guinea is returning a significant and remarkable profit! In January, the ministry will celebrate 5 years of service as the country’s first Christian broadcasting network. Please pray for a series of Bible rallies we are planning in PNG with Dr. Woodrow Kroll from Back To The Bible broadcast. His daily radio program has been on the air in PNG from the beginning and is dearly loved by the listeners.

In just 4 years, 10 FM radio stations and a Shortwave station cover much of the country with the Gospel! Our goal is over 30 stations!! Thanks for “staying by the stuff” as we use Christian radio with such revival-impact in Papua New Guinea!

Here is the email from Alan Good that Joe refers to:

Dear friends,

Wantok Radio Light is in the third day of our annual Sharathon. We launched this year's Sharathon in Mt. Hagen which went on the air in March of this year. A rally was held in the afternoon at the Pope John Paul Oval, which is an open field area. A group from a local church provided music and several pastors spoke to the crowd. This was held in advance of the evening dinner and fund raiser. I could not stay in Mt. Hagen for the rally as we learned that the Ialibu transmitter was off the air and I went up with two pastors and Pawa Warena's brother to try and get the repeater back on the air.

My trip was successful as I was able to repair the transmitter on site. We quickly drove back to Mt. Hagen to prepare for the evening dinner which we aired live through a telephone hook up back to Port Moresby.

On arriving back in Mt. Hagen I learned that at the afternoon rally 20 Rascals (criminals) had given their lives to the Lord! Not only that but one of the National Events Council members invited these men to be a part of our dinner and Sharathon launching. This member paid for these men to have dinner with all of us. Not only that but she bought each of these men a SonSet radio (solar powered and fix-tuned) so that they could tune in to Wantok Radio Light to help them as new believers in Christ. I have attached a photo of eighteen of these men with their new radios. We praise the Lord for calling these men to Himself and for the transformation that happened in their lives . . .

We Rejoice with us in what the Lord is doing in Papua New Guinea.

Blessings,

Alan Good

Special Note:  During Sharathon 2006, one of our PNG missions projects was the purchase of over 300 "Sonset Radios".  Designd by HCJB World Radio, these solar powered, fixed frequency radios are locked in to the Wantok Radio Light station frequencies.  This extends the impact of Christian radio in PNG even further to regions without electricity.

Each of the 20 Rascals that got saved were given one of these radios (see picture above)!  This is a demonstration of how your giving is transforming lives... not only here in Central Pennsylvania, but to the precious people of Papua New Guinea!
