Born in the frozen tundra of Minnesota, I always loved a good snow. Although I was not born into a Christian family, God had a plan for my life. I attended church faithfully (even though my parents did not go until I was older) by riding the bus every Sunday. I am a true product of our church's bus ministry back in the 70's and 80's.
I was saved at a young age while attending Woodcrest, but as I grew older, I wanted to attend the Christian School. I finally got my wish and was able to attend the Christian Academy during my high school years. By attending Woodcrest, I was grounded in God's Word on a daily basis and the Lord was quietly working in my heart and life.
I knew the Lord was calling me to work with youth, but was not sure in what capacity. I finally felt called to be involved in Christian Education as I thought I would be able to minister to youth on a daily basis. I believe in Christian education even more now than when I first began 20 years ago because I know what it did for me in my life.
After graduating from Northland International University, I took a position at Mifflin County Christian Academy where I am currently serving in my 20th year. I am the Administrator at MCCA, and I also teach some classes and coach the varsity boy's soccer team – which we won our first State Championship this past fall.
God has given me a great family. I have a beautiful wife Halley, and 3 great children. Luke is 12 and in 6th grade, Emma is 9 and in 4th grade, and Lilly is 5 and into everything. We just recently added a new member to our family – Dunkin – our new black lab.
We love being a part of the Camp K ministry and consider it a privilege to minister along side the many who are involved with the camp. We are looking forward to see what God is going to do at camp this coming summer.

I was saved at the age of 11 at a summer youth camp in Colorado. Although I grew up in a christian home and knew the facts about the gospel, it was not until I was 11 when God opened my eyes to my personal need of Christ. Since that time, I have grown in Christ and have had the privilege of serving Him.
After graduating from Maranatha Baptist Bible college in 2003, I traveled in evangelism with the Steve Pettit Evangelistic team for 6 years. God used that traveling experience in my life to develop a deeper walk with Him. I also was able to participate in music, preaching and outreach ministry to local churches.
It was while traveling that I met my beautiful wife, megan. We were married in the summer of 2007. In 2009 we moved to Northeastern Wisconsin where I had the privilege of working at Northland Camp, as well as complete a masters degree in biblical counseling at Northland International University. God has recently led our family (Myself, my wife, and my one year old son, Brenden), to St. Francis Minnesota where I currently serve as an assistant pastor at First Baptist Church.
Bob Roberts
Kings Kids Mini Camps 1 & 2
July 1 - 3 & July 5 - 7
Bob Roberts, also known as "Mr. Bob," grew up in a Christian home. However, it wasn't until the summer of 1995 that he trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation. Shortly after his conversion, Bob was persuaded that God wanted him to spend his life spreading the Good News that changed his life.
Bob has always enjoyed working with juniors, and God has opened the door for him to invest his life full-time into that special age group. After graduating from Northland Baptist Bible College, he founded Kids 4 Truth, an organization focused on sharing important truths about God to kids in a dynamic, captivating, memorable way.
His wife, Sarah, grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of four. She attended Northland Baptist Bible College where she received a degree in Church Ministries. Immediately upon graduation, she began working full-time in the Northland Camp Office as the program secretary. Sarah met Bob when he was a Junior Camp Speaker for two weeks at Northland Camp. Bob and Sarah were married in April, 2007, and Sarah now enjoys assisting Bob as he directs Kids 4 Truth.

I was born into a Pastor's home and was in church all my life. I remember at a young age talking with my parents about salvation and all that was involved. At the age of 5 I prayed a prayer truly desiring to be saved. Over the course of the next 8 years I battled against intense doubts. I questioned whether or not I really understood, whether or not I really meant the prayer, and whether or not I said the right things. I remember many a night in bed asking God to save me if I wasn't saved because I did not want to go to hell. When I was 13 I was at a camp in Colorado and was facing these doubts again. I pulled my Dad aside one night and shared my doubts with him. The next day I confessed to God that I was a sinner and that I knew my only hope of salvation from my sins was in Jesus. To this day I do not know a specific day when I was saved. It could have been at age 5. It could have been at age 13. It could have been somewhere in between. But I know that right now my faith and trust are in Jesus Christ and Him alone to save me from my sins and give me a relationship with God the Father. This is my confidence now. It is not in the words I said, prayer I prayed, or the life I live. It is in Jesus!
I graduated from Bob Jones University in 2009 with a degree in Youth Ministries. I then went on to Seminary and graduated in 2011 with my Master's degree in Theology. I currently live in Lincoln, Nebraska where I am a Youth Pastor at Heritage Bible Church.

Youth Quest 2

When I was younger, my brother and I shared a room, and when I was only about 5 or 6 he was sharing with me about the reality of hell one night and that I needed ask Jesus Christ to pay the punishment for my sins so I wouldn't go there. I was concerned obviously, so I went into my parents room and they shared with me from Scripture what Christ did for me on the cross to pay my sin debt, and I remember kneeling beside their bed that night and trusting Christ as my Savior.
Our home was a good Christian home, and I had the opportunity to go to public school for several years, to be home schooled for several years, and to go to a Christian school for 2 years. It was while I was in high school attending a Christian camp that I surrendered to the Lord for whatever He wanted for my life. Slowly, he began to direct me and give me a burden for full time youth ministry. The Lord directed me to a Christian college, and it was there that I met my beautiful wife, Connie. After college we were married and we now have 4 beautiful girls (yes, all girls). Their ages range from 1 year old up to 8 years old, so our home is "lively" to say the least, but I love it!
For 8 years, the Lord allowed me to be a Youth Pastor at a church in West Virginia, which was a wonderful experience. But slowly the Lord began burdening my heart to pastor a church, and in the Summer of 2010, the Lord opened the doors for me to become the pastor of First Baptist Church in Bellefonte, PA. It has been a pleasure serving the Lord in camp ministries, youth ministries and as a Senior Pastor, and I have learned that there is never a better place to be, than as God's child doing His will!
Chris McLain
Co-ed Wilderness Camp
July 8 - 13
Growing up in a Christian home and church I understood my condition as a sinner and the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, So at the age of 6, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior. At the age of 11 I dedicated my life to full-time service for Christ. After high school, I attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College training to be a History teacher. In 1996 I began teaching History at Calvary Baptist School in Lansdale, PA. Over the 12 years in Lansdale I married my wife, Mandy, and we were blessed with three beautiful girls, Morgann, Madison, and Mason. In 2007 God saw fit to move us to Wisconsin were we now serve at Northland International University.
Since 1999 I have spent part of my summers working with Wilderness Institute for Leadership Development. Over those 13 years with WILD I have developed a philosophy and skills for using wilderness as a discipleship tool. It is my desire to glorify God whether it is in a classroom teaching history or in the woods using experience to grow faith.
Jeff Hartzler
Boys Wilderness Camp
July 22 - 27
Jeff Hartzler was born and raised in Lewistown, PA., the youngest of seven children born to Floyd & Alma Hartzler. Having been raised in a Bible church he heard the gospel since his early years and wrestled with personal faith and a walk with the Lord throughout his school years. During four years of Bible College at Citadel Bible College in Ozark, Arkansas, the Lord really began to challenge and strengthen his faith and it was during those years that Jeff came to know and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and also determined to seek to be there for young people, even as several men had been there for him while he was growing up.
Thus he pursued a Pastoral/Missions degree and headed toward youth ministry.
After a few short years on staff at Citadel Bible College, Jeff served as Associate Pastor in charge of Youth for 5 ½ years at First Baptist Church of Princeton, In. During those years of strictly youth ministry Jeff became burdened to reach, not only youth, but also parents and adults with a discipleship ministry, and so he moved and spent 10 years as Pastor of Northwoods Bible Church of Ray, MN. In 2003, Jeff and his brother Jim both resigned their pastoral ministries and moved back to central PA. with the goal of starting and working together in a church ministry. And for the last 8 plus years Jeff has been one of the pastors of Big Valley Bible Church in Reedsville, PA. were he continues to serve today.
Jeff was married to a good friend and college classmate of his, Cheryl McSpadden, in 1987. Since then, they have had five children. Jeffrey who is 21 and a senior at Crossroads Bible College in Indianapolis and working in youth ministry, David who is 20 and a graduate of World of Life Bible Institute, Jessica who is 19 and presently a student at WOLBI, and Alyssa 14 and Joshua who is 8.
